A Long Labor Day Weekend

We started our Labor Day festivities on Thursday with our fancy dinner at Oglebay.  Friday, we forced Daddy to spend his day off working on the front porch rails...just a few more screws and Mommy will have to find something else to nag Daddy about.

Saturday morning, Ella awoke from her nap to find a house full of people.  Mimi, Pappy Bill, Aunt Jenn, Uncle Aaron, & baby Caleb arrived bright and early!

The women (plus Caleb) decide to enjoy the windy fall day with a stroll around Oglebay park...the men decided to go gamble our money away.

Ella wasn't so sure of this "thing" crying on the living room floor, but he had some pretty cool toys for her to lick.

Things got ugly when Ella decide that poor Caleb's head looked yummy...I guess that means she likes him!

After Sunday's morning nap, Ella awoke to Grandma Sue & Grandpa Rodney sitting at the dining room table.  We shoveled some food into the poor girl and off we went to see the vintage race boats at the Waterfront.  It was  a beautiful fall day to be out with friends & family!

A liked his free twizzler so much that he eventually tried to share with Ella.  Mommy didn't think that was a good idea, but it was nice of him to share!

Mommy took Ella to see Sparkles the clown while the boats where racing so she could get a pretty flower balloon.  Surprisingly, she liked the clown and her balloon!

Ella had to show off her new tricks for the grandparents when we got home.

The last day to our long weekend arrived and we decided what better way to spend Labor Day than at the zoo.

Ella didn't really seem to have much interest in lions, tigers, & bears but there were lots of crazy people for her to watch!

Of course, she needed to nap just as we got to the good stuff...the PPG aquarium!  Luckily, she has good parents that wasted sometime so she was awake to see all the fish!!

Her favorite (as Mommy suspected they would be) were the penguins.  We waited our turn so Ella could get a front row view of the playful little buggers.  She didn't know what to do when one popped right up in front of her face.

We only had 2 casualties at the zoo...a lost cell phone (which was thankfully found and returned) and Ella's new penguin which is now on the endangered species list thanks to drool!
