I can read!

Have you ever heard the story about Daddy going to kindergarten and coming home very upset because they weren't teaching him to read even though he could already read?  I've heard the story a hundred times and it always makes me laugh a little.  I mean reading before kindergarten...that's just like the smarty pants.  Well, I have news for you Daddy, you've been out smarted by your 21 month old little girl! 

Tumblin' Tots

For the last few weeks, Mommy & Ella have been going to a Baby & Me class at Tumblin' Tots.  We have quite a good time.  We sing songs, play with a parachute, climb an obstacle course, and of course have bubbles at the end.

Daddy had vacation the week of Christmas so Mommy convinced him he should take Ella to class to see how great she does.  He was a little hesitant but off to class they went.  They had such a  good time that we took Ella bug to open play hours later that week.

Off limits

There are very few things in our house that Mommy & Daddy consider off limits.  For Mommy, it happens to be the dining room furniture.  For Daddy, it is obviously his guitars and accessories.  Daddy gets a little frantic when Mommy gets too close.  Imagine Daddy's reaction when he saw this...

Front Porch Playtime

Ella & Mommy have been wandering outside quite frequently this summer.  Ella loves to swing on the porch swing.  We go out in the morning & then again in the evening with Daddy.  Mostly it keeps her from fussing and sometimes we even get a small nap.

After a short nap, Ella had some fun playing with Daddy.

She loves to grab at anything she can get her hands on...glasses, Mommy's hair, Daddy's nose...

Then we gave Ella a special treat...plums.  Yummy! (we have to put the fruit in a mesh bag so she can hold it herself, plus if you try to hold it for her, she tries to bite pieces off and then tries to suck the entire piece of fruit into her mouth!)

Daddy's future guitarist

So Daddy's dream is for Mommy to go to work everyday so he can quit his job and start up a bar band. He is hoping his little girl will become an awesome drummer since good drummers are hard to find. Mommy isn't real thrilled about the drummer idea or the bar band or going back to work for that matter!! I guess Daddy might have to settle for some weekend guitar time with his little guitarist instead...

Daddy's got talent??

While I'm not so sure Daddy has mastered diapering 101, dressing 102, bath time 200, or getting baby to sleep 400, he has managed to master at least one parenting skill....
