Overall, our hospital visit was pretty good. We checked in at 6am to get the show on the road. Amber got into bed, and they put her on the drip. While I was down doing some paperwork, they put in her IV. That was probably the worst part of the day; Amber and needles don't mix well.

Dr. Coleman came in after a bit and broke her water. I guess it feels like you peed yourself. A lot. I'll take her word on it. Contractions started after a bit. They were OK at first, no epidural needed. Like I said, at first. After about 5cm and a dozen or so contractions, I buzzed the nurse. "Do you need anything?" "Um, yeah, I think she'll take the epidural now" "Gotcha"
They booted me out of the room and half an hour later her legs are numb. Magic. Then she took a nap.
Not long after waking up she started feeling some pressure. They checked her out, got pretty excited, and the cavalry rolled in. About 10 people came into the room, and Dr. Coleman showed up about 5 minutes later. Amber started pushing while I held a leg. You can guess how the rest went. We don't have any pictures of this part, you can thank me later.
When she was almost out, the place went into full blown delivery mode. Everyone scrubbed out, they dropped part of the bed off, bright lights came on, and Dr. Coleman said "Don't push until I have my gloves on!" 22 minutes total of pushing and we had a baby.

As you already read, Ella Marie Green was born Monday, February 8 at 2:52pm. 7lb 2.5oz and 20.5 inches.

The grandparents all came to visit in the hospital and both grandmas were there bright and early Monday morning for all the action. They waited outside for the main event.
We brought little Ella home Wednesday around 4pm. Our work was cut out for us the first night, but the second night went much better.
Mom and baby are doing great. I'm doing ok too, not that anyone cares.
