It was a hot weekend. It was a rainy weekend. All typical for Labor Day. We tried to head to the Oglebay Good Zoo on Saturday but Grandma and Mommy were so hot we zipped through as fast as we could dripping sweat all the way. They really should make these zoos flat for those of us pushing a stroller! We got back to the house to find Daddy and pappy sweating away sinking posts for our soon to be built shed.
Sunday we risked the sprinkles and headed down to the waterfront for the annual Vintage Race Boat Regatta. We took Ella last year but she was just rolling around then. How things have changed! They have huge cranes that lift the race boats into the water. Ella was really into the "flying boats."
Of course at this age we lose interest pretty fast. So Daddy took her for a walk closer to the racing boats and the Mommy took her to browse all the vendors. On our walk we found nice display of fish in the Ohio River and a cute little boat for Ella to drive.
We are making a bad tradition of spending Labor Day at a RAINY Pittsburgh Zoo. The munchkin doesn't really seem to mind the rain and because it was so cool the few animals we saw, as we zipped to the aquarium, were quite playful. The tigers were chasing each other and rolling in the grass. Even the polar bear was up for some good old fun!
