A PA Vacation

We spent a few hot August days in PA.  But its nice to spend some extra time with family no matter what the weather (I can say that now with 2 inches on snow & 30 degree weather!).  And its even more fun to watch the kiddos play.

We started off our week with a trip to see the Altoona Curve.  Ella loves her baseball and she loved Al Tuna even more.

We spent a scorcher of a day at Lakemont.  I don't think either kid was bothered by the 100 degree weather, even thought their pregnant Mommy's we quite miserable.

They rode the boats & the merry go round and the horses and then were forced to the water area...don't worry I won't force you to endure swim suit pictures, yikes!

Then we drug everyone to the good old Horseshoe Curve for the day.And we waited and waited and waited for a train.  Good thing we packed lunch and bubbles to pass the time.
The incline
Caleb loves his Aunt Amber...or maybe just my hair clips??

Waiting on the train
Apparently, he likes Ella's accessories too.

 Finally a train....

Nice view, isn't it!

We decided to wash the sweat off in Mimi's pool, which we didn't have very good luck with this summer.

Then we made a quick stop to visit Pappy JR & grandma Mary Lee.  Ella was very interested in showing Grandma Mary Lee something on the map.

Finally, Caleb's 2ns birthday came & we went to a Children's Museum to play since it was rainy.

We even celebrated with some cupcakes!

The kids favorite part, and my least favorite, was the basement sandbox/ship.  They probably would have stayed down there all day.  But we had to leave so we could make a special trip to the Thompson Zoo...if you haven't been there you should go, free admission!
Nothing like a ride on the golf cart to get to the animals!
(Ella's first "big Sister" shirt.  How happy it makes me!)
Finally the zookeeper arrived and we got to see all the cute animals.  That's a chinchilla they are holding.  super super soft but too rat like fro Mommy.
Meets Pickles the pig...he likes cheese puffs.

And finally the goats.  They like pretzels.  No wonder Ella likes the animals so much...they eat the same snacks!

And the whole reason we really came home...Caleb's 2nd birthday party!!  Aunt Jenn had a whole tractor theme going on for the birthday boy.  And he was in love I'm sure!

Something tells me this might not be a good idea...

And it wouldn't be a trip to PA with out a drive by of the world famous fountain.  If you haven't heard of it you probably shouldn't be reading this blog...
