In June, we found out we were having our first baby! We told our families Father's Day weekend. It took the Green's a few minutes to figure out what was going on, they must have been in shock. My mom was through the roof and stood around with a goofy grin on her face the rest of the day. Needless to say, both families are excited for their first grandchild to come along.
Ultrasound number 2 came in August. It finally looks like a baby in there...In September, we had our first 3-D ultrasound. We also found out we are having a GIRL!!! Mommy is so excited but Daddy realizes he is now going to be outnumbered!
In October, Daddy finally got to feel the Baby kick just before his birthday. The Baby already likes to play games with Daddy. She kicks up a storm and then as soon as I convince Russell to come feel she stops. Poor Russell is sure that I just have gas.
In November, our families threw a wonderful baby shower for us. We had so much fun with everyone and got LOTS and LOTS of goodies for our little one.
With December came the craziness of the Holiday season. Everyone had to travel to Wheeling since Baby and I couldn't go that far. We have finally given out her name. But not everyone wants to know in advance, so I won't post it just yet!
January brought excitement that our little girl would be here soon! The girls I work with also had a shower for us...which means more goodies for the baby. Grandma swears that this little baby couldn't possibly need anything else. I question her sanity and wonder if she realizes just how cute baby stuff really is.... On the 21st, I was 2 cm dilated at my doctors appointment. I couldn't control my excitement and the OB said "she has never seen someone so excited about their cervix." This is just the news I had been waiting for!! Russell is not so thrilled about the news. He thinks the Baby needs to wait until February to come (needless to say he isn't the one carrying the 7 pound watermelon!)
February finally arrives, with no progress in the labor department. Mommy is full of mixed emotions. One minute I can't wait for our tiny Baby to come and the next I can't stop thinking about what has to happen to get this baby here. Daddy is finally on board with the baby making her big debut. We have a big snow storm blowing in this weekend and I am sure she will decide to make her appearance then. If not, we will see our baby girl on the 8th...
Hang in there Mom...we will get to Wheeling even if we have to get Rudolph to guide our sleigh!
